Te Tuhi Museum

As I woke up in the morning I quickly hopped out of my bed and walked to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and also washed my face, then I quickly walked to my room to where my school uniform was, as I got to my room I gently put my uniform on then I walked to the kitchen and ate breakfast, then I quickly packed my bag with my lunch and my netbook, then I walked to school.

When I got to school excitedly I asked all my friends if they were going to the Te Tuhi Museum trip, the bell went and we all had to walk back to our classes, as I got to my class my teacher explained what we were going to do next, so we had reading and writing, then we had morning tea, after morning tea we all had to come back to class and read our reading books, as we were reading our reading books we all had to wait.

While we waited our teacher told us to pack up everything and get ready to go, so as we all finished packing up we all walked outside and lined up into two lines then we quickly walked over to the bus waiting for us, as we got in the bus everyone wanted to sit in the back seats, as we were all ready to go out bus driver drove off and we all looked outside the window, as we drove to the to Pakuranga we got there all happy.

Later on as we got to the Te Tuhi Museum we got out of the bus and walked quietly to the doors as we got there we all had to sit down and our tour guy named Jeremy showed us some tapa cloths that were from Fiji, Tonga and Samoa, we all walked over to the art room where we made Tapa Cloth using paper, as we all got our piece of paper we had to listen for the first instructions, the first instructions were to get a piece then scrunch it, the next thing we do is to get a pastel which is coloured a bit red and a bit dark brown.

As we got our pastel we quickly rubbed the side onto the piece of paper, then when we completed rubbing it onto the paper we finally got to get a paint brush and dip it into the bowl of dye, then we gently brushed it on the paper as we finished we had to take it to Jeremy for him to lay them one by one onto the inside stairs, then as the papers were drying up we had to get another piece of paper that was done and dried up by the class that went there before our class.

While we got our piece of paper we had to put our Interests, Family, Home and Culture in all the boxes one by one, as we put them all in the boxes we finally got to draw what represents us or what our interests are, once you have completed drawing all of the boxes you can then leave your piece of paper on the table and we had to walk out the door with Jeremy to go see all the other artworks done by other painters.

While we walked through the art gallery we then came back to the front door and then we just said “Thanks” to Jeremy for showing us around then as we finished we walked back out into two lines with out teacher and hopped on the bus, then drove back to school.

Manaiakalani Recount Writing

As I woke up in the morning I was really excited because today was the day when all the schools in the Manaiakalani area show movies up on the big screen at The Manaiakalani Film Festival about what they have learnt throughout the year, there were lots of school movies shown up on the screen. We went on Wednesday to the Manaiakalani Film Festival, it was held at Sylvia Park Hoyts Cinemas.

The intermediate block went to The Manaiakalani Film Festival at 11:30, the first thing we did was we had to line up into two lines with our teacher then we walked to the bus and walked into the bus, we had to find a seat to sit on with two or one friends, while we travelled there it was a bumpy ride but we still made it to Sylvia Park, as we stopped in the bus all teachers hopped out first and got all students to line up in their class lines, as I got into my class line everyone had to walk in a straight line so that no one gets left behind.

Walking towards the the escalator we all had to go in two pairs so that we don't get all squashed up and so that no one falls over and hurts themself as they walked up on the steps, as we walked we were all leaded to a door where we had to walk quietly with our teacher, as we all walked up the teachers had to organize where we were sitting, while I sat down I was filled with joy and excitement.

While we waited for the presenters to get ready to present I just sat there with excitement waiting for the movies to show up and play, suddenly the lights on the side of the cinema brightened down everyone was all excited and filled with happiness, a couple of minutes later the lights went slowly darker and darker than the first part showed up for the Manaiakalani FIlm Festival it was a introduction film, after the introduction film it played all the movies up on the big screen.

All the movies had to be 3:00 minutes long, while waiting the first movie showed up and the first movie that showed up was class 3`s movie from Pt England School it was about the kindness  boomerang and how to show kindness, the movie was showing how to continue kindness to others in different ways, it also showed how to do something nice for others and others will do nice things back to you just to show a sign of saying thanks to them.

During the film festival it showed all of the movies from other schools, my favourite movie was class 3`s movie because it was all about being kind to others in various ways, and doing nice things to people. When all the movies finished everyone had to line up into their class line so that no one gets lost and also so that they all go as a class to the bus, as we got to the bus we all had to go in two at a time so that we don't get all squashed up, while we drove to school we finally got there with relief, and everyone enjoyed themselves at the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

Celtic Knot Explanation

When creating a celtic knot, you initially should research celtic knot patterns so that there are more ideas for you to draw while doing your art, when you have completed writing celtic knot into the search area, it comes up with a simple celtic knot including various patterns and shapes inside the celtic knot.

The first step to making a celtic knot is to research celtic knot, when completed it comes up with various celtic knots including shapes and different patterns inside the celtic knot, the next step to making the celtic knot is to draw the celtic knot onto a piece of paper slowly for practise. Then when you have completed your drawing you then search for a pattern or a shape that suits or fits inside your celtic knot.

When you have completed looking for a pattern you can then draw it onto you practise paper to see if it fits inside the celtic knot, if you have completed the celtic knot including the patterns inside you can then go to your teacher and they sketch one part of the celtic knot for you to do a pattern or various shapes and patterns inside the celtic knot.

As you have finished searching for a pattern or a shape you can then draft your pattern into the celtic knot using various shapes and patterns. Then when you have completed drafting the shape and the patterns into the celtic knot you can then outline around the celtic knot including the shapes and patterns with a dark black vivid, when you have completed outlining the celtic knot including the shapes and patterns you can then choose various colors to color into the celtic knot including the shapes and patterns to color in.

When you have finished drawing your celtic knot and have completed everything including the coloring and the colored patterns, you can then grab a pair of scissors and cut out the celtic knot part, once you have completed that you can then grab a black piece of paper and glue your part of the celtic knot onto the paper including the other team members celtic knot part. When you have completed everything you can then show your teacher and they can then glue/staple it onto the class wall.

Holiday Recount

Laying down in my bed I hear birds tweeting out my window, so I sit up on my bed and crawl to my window and pulled my curtains to the side, my curtains had flowers all over them so I felt happy, as I got to my window I see the skies are grey and cloudy, later on I just noticed it was Sunday. So I gently hop out of my bed and go to the bathroom for a shower, turning on the tap I feel the hot water dripping into the bathtub, so I quickly hop in while the water is still warm and hot, 20 minutes later I hopped out and walked to my room then I look for some suitable clothes to wear for church, so I finally find suitable clothes for me to wear.

As I put on my clothes I quickly look for my shoes in a small closet, my shoes are black with a small flower on the top of the shoe, suddenly I worry because I couldn't find my shoes I looked everywhere but still I couldn't find them, so I sit on the couch for a little rest then I remember putting my shoes under my bed so I quickly run to my room and look underneath then, I only find one pair of my shoe I think to myself “Where is the other pair of my shoe” so I quickly look for my shoes because time was running fast.

Looking for my shoe I quickly search outside and in boxes later on, my parents asked me “Why are you running around the house” then I quickly say to them “I'm looking for my shoe” then they ask me “Did you look in the cupboards of bags” then I quickly see a black pair of shoe with a flower on the top of the shoe then I quickly run to the sitting room and put my shoes on then I look at the time and its just 10:50, so my parents said “We're going church now, hurry up” so we all quickly run to the car and drove off.

Finally we got to church and we all quickly hopped out of the car then we walked slowly to the doors then we gently opened the doors and walked quietly to the chapel (Sacrament room) and looked for a seat to sit on, so as we found our chair we gently sat down and waited for what was gonna happen next during the day.

Immersion Assembly

On Monday 13th of October, Walking to the hall for immersion assembly I hear music echoing down the hall and I also see art works on the projector, as my class and I sit down I see pieces paper, paint brushes, boards that are ready for each team, teams 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 who perform a show that has to do with our theme Art Attack. My Favorite show from the teams who performed were team 5 because they did a art work called portrait. Portrait is a type o art where you get a piece of paper and you pant someones face up side down then later on if you have finished you face the piece of paper up and it shows their faces, I really enjoyed team 5 show because they`re not professional artists but they got through it.

School Uniform Writing

Pt England School should wear uniforms because it shows respect to others and it also represents our school if we go to different places, it also gives us a sense of meaning and belonging. When we are in uniform we are reminded that we are representing our school and also if you are on a school trip you don't have to worry about getting lost, because you know the colors of the school uniform.

I strongly believe that we should wear uniforms at Pt England School because it shows where you come from. The  other reason why Pt England School should wear uniforms is because it is easier to focus on school instead of what you're going to be wearing when you get up. The reason why was so that our clothes in our wardrobe don't get ruined at school, and so that no one gets judged by what they wear or what kind of shoes they are wearing.

The next reason why we should wear uniforms is so that if we go to trips at other places or at other schools that are filled with lots of people, the teachers can identify which is which because the colors of the uniform and also if you have a name tag on your jacket or jumper, also so you don't get lost. Pt England School should wear uniforms because it shows that we are smart and also it shows which community we come from and what we do at school to learn and to co-operate with others in different ways, and also it shows that we Strive To Succeed because it says on our school uniform.

If we wear uniform it shows that we are a primary and intermediate school  because the intermediate kids wear jackets and the primary kids have jumpers which show we are a Primary and Intermediate school. When you wear uniform people tell what school you come from because there is a logo on the front of your uniform, shorts, pants or clots. Wearing Uniforms is really important because It is really important that we wear uniform because if visitors come to our school, or if we have to present something to visitors, we look tidy and so that we look smart and ready to speak, and also because it shows Respect to people who come to our school.

I really enjoy wearing uniforms because it shows where we come from and also it shows lots of respect to others who come to our school because it shows where we come from and it shows what community we come from and what we do as a school to present and to represent to visitors and other schools we go to.

Harold

Last week was class 3  had there last session at The Life Education Trust  caravan, The purpose of the Life Education caravan is that it helps you through your life it also teaches you lessons about choosing the right decisions and also not to take drugs while you are  still in college because it affects your daily lives and affects your brain including your heart. It also affects your eye vision and how you walk, also if you are drunk you can easily get scars and wounds on your body during a party or as you are at a club.

The Life Education caravan is filled with photos and pictures of drugs and alcohol there is also a TV screen where Lynn show us videos of people who went through drugs and alcohol through their lives and how it affected them. We learnt about Drugs and Alcohol and how it affects our daily lives, drugscan lead to death and,  Alcohol can affect how you walk and how you also talk to others.

Once you take drugs you straight away get addicted to it and you start to take it every second of the day and you start to lose control of yourselves and also  start to hurt people around you. As you drink alcohol it forces you to walk different ways and it can also make you fall asleep or be drunk.

Making decisions is very hard because if some of your friends tell you to take alcohol and its very hard to say no to a friend. Also its hard to make decisions incase someone tells you to eat something but they say that it is very healthy for you then you eat it and start to get dizzy and also you start to lose control.

The Brain is a very important body part in you body because it shows signals for what you can eat or what you can't eat it is also very important because its tells you what to do and it also tells you right or wrong. The brain shows you how to think and also what to do when you are lost in a maths equation.

We learnt very good lessons there because it teaches us how to take care of ourselves when we need help and it also helps us throughout long lives as we are living I also learnt that taking drugs can lead to death because its not healthy for your body it also can damage the brain selles.

Reading Activity

Referring to the title of the text what do you think the article is about? I think it is about a sport game.

Why do Saturday’s start early for Alice? Because she plays football (soccer) for her team and she has to do some trainings.

What does the goal weigh? It weighs a ton. What do you think Ashleigh is doing when she says this. Think about if the goal were to literally weigh this, would it be even possible for Ashleigh to lift it? I think she is trying to show that she can do it.

How do you think the girls are feeling prior to their game? I think their feeling determined about their game.  Put yourself in their shoes, how would you feeling/ how do you feel before playing a netball or rugby game? I would feel shy but at the same time determined.
